Bernard Matthews II, our offshore lifeboat, is a Dutch built Valentijn which slashed response times by more than half. In service since 2004, replacing The Bernard Matthews lifeboat, which had been going to the rescue of seafarers off the coast of Great Yarmouth for 12 years. The Fred Dyble, our inshore lifeboat (ILB) was named by HRH Princess Anne on the 30th April 2013.

Shirley Jean Adye was the first Independent Offshore Lifeboat in the country. Liverpool Class Lifeboat Built in 1952 by Groves & Gutteridge, Cowes at Yard No 524. ON906 W Ross McArthur of Glasgow.

Bernard Matthews II
A search is under way to find a missing diver who was looking at a wreck site in the North Sea. The 68-year-old man from the Brighton area was reported missing 12 miles (19km) east of Great Yarmouth at 6pm on Monday. He was reported missing by the dive boat Raider V and was still missing on Tuesday morning. An air and sea search involving rescue helicopters and lifeboats started on Monday night, went overnight and continued on Tuesday.
